Environmental responsibility:
Environmental responsibility is one of the organization’s overarching commitments, seeking operational efficiency, the development of environmentally friendly infrastructure, an energy transition process, and the protection of ecosystems.
Some of the related initiatives are as follows:
· Photovoltaic system: 6,000 solar panels in a space of 22,000 m2, equivalent to 2.98 million kilowatt hours per year.
· Technological development of a citation system to reduce the impact of cargo trucks on the port.
· Adaptation to climate change: piers built to withstand projected sea level rise.
· Deepening of the access channel to Cartagena Bay: 8,725 species relocated and saved.
· Port Oasis: Conservation of flora and fauna, reproduction of endangered species.
